Recently we are seeing many cases in which Android Auto does not work correctly, they do not connect with Xiaomi brand phones, usually it is the “Communication error 16”, this is usually due to an incompatibility with the “cloned application” function on phones with dual SIM.
This function is not directly compatible with Google, and for to get it work it is necessary for MIUI to create a second virtual space by cloning all Google services (Google Play Services and Framework).
To solve this problem, the cloned applications must be disabled.
Since the problem does not come from duplicating individual applications but from Google services, it is necessary to completely remove all data from the function. Therefore, to perform a proper cleaning it is necessary to do the following steps:
1.- Click on Settings> Cloned applications
2.- Click on the setting icon in the upper right corner.
3.- Select “Delete accounts of cloned applications”
4.- Click on “Delete and restart” in the pop-up window that appears
Wait for the reboot of your Xiaomi smartphone.
Remember to select the “file transfer” mode from the notification that will appear when you insert the cable.
After the phone is rebooted, Android Auto should be ready to work now.
